Solaris Health System
encompasses a wide array of organizations, services and facilities in the Central New Jersey area. The system includes acute care hospital JFK Medical Center, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centers, nursing and convalescent facilities and specialized treatment programs.

Strong ties to the community, established regional reputations, exceptional employees, a mutual commitment to patient satisfaction and quality medical staffs are key factors that brought us together. Solaris Health System is a parent company that connects affiliated organizations without replacing their own names or identities.

JFK Medical Center consists of a 399 bed teaching hospital with a reputation for excellence in healthcare and the adjacent 94 bed JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. Special services at the medical center include the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute, a diagnostic treatment, teaching and research center offering advance treatment for complex neurological disorders. The JFK Imaging Center houses traditional and open air MRI capabilities, advanced bone density diagnostic facilities, and the Breast Center - offering comprehensive mammography services. Other services include the JFK Cancer Center (including state-of-the-art radiation treatment), the Health and Fitness Center and the Family Practice Center.

JFK Medical Center -- Muhlenberg Campus, located in Plainfield, New Jersey, is committed to ensuring high-quality effective healthcare for you and your family. We continue to provide area residents with access to a host of outpatient clinical treatment programs, a Satellite Emergency Department, support services, and health education to meet your on-going needs. The Muhlenberg Campus remains an active part of the communities we serve, offering a range of quality healthcare services including outpatient diagnostic imaging and radiology, laboratory services, dialysis treatment, home care, wound care, adult day care, and a sleep disorders lab. Most importantly, area residents can continue to receive 24-hour care through the Satellite Emergency Department, located at the current site of the Muhlenberg Campus in Plainfield. Here, patients can seek treatment for non-emergency, minor injuries and illnesses from board certified physicians and other experienced healthcare professionals.

JFK Hartwycks Nursing, Convalescent and Rehabilitation Centers are located at three sites in Plainfield and Edison - Cedar Brook, Edison Estates, and Oak Tree. The facilities provide more than 600 long-term care beds for traditional nursing home care, rehabilitation, subacute and medical rehabilitation care, adult medical day care, respite care and more.

The JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute
is a 94-bed comprehensive rehabilitation facility. Established in 1974, the facility offers a variety of specialized servicesand programs including physical and occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation,pulmonary rehabilitation, chronic pain, vocational rehabilitation, audiology and speech pathology and therapeutic recreation.

Whispering Knoll is a three-story assisted living facility located in Edison. The community includes 118 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a special care community for residents with memory impairments. The beautifully designed facility features numerous unique amenities, including scenic gardens, peaceful patios, a gift shop, library, a cinema, gym and game room, formal dining room and bistro.

JFK MediPlex Surgery Center
is a free-standing facility for same-day surgery, located across from the JFK Medical Center campus in Edison. State licensed and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the facility features four operating rooms, one endoscopy room and both a post-anesthesia room and a discharge recovery area, where families can stay with the patient. It is a multispecialty facility with 180 physicians on staff.

The Muhlenberg Harold B. and Dorothy A. Snyder Schools
carry on a long tradition of educating future healthcare professionals through the Schools of Nursing, Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences. More than 300 students are enrolled in the five schools (Nursing, Radiography, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Medical Sonography), which offer access to Solaris Health System's state-of-the-art equipment and expansive clinical facilities.
